Raquel Hernandez
Raquel Hernandez has called the Southwest home her whole life, where the lack of extreme sports didn't stop her from an active childhood packed with martial arts, track, long bike rides, and runs to nowhere. After overcoming an eating disorder in her mid-teens-- a time when she never imagined her future in fitness-- she found CrossFit in her first year of college, starting out in her backyard. Joining a gym soon led to coaching when others spotted her knack for it, and she went on to compete twice at the team regional level. Since 2016, she's owned a local strength and conditioning gym, investing in a safe, fun, family-oriented space for her community to grow stronger together. Certified as a CSCS and PN L-1 Nutrition Coach, Raquel provides both strength & conditioning and nutrition expertise, blending her fitness background with a passion for helping others fuel for their goals. Outside of her gym space, she also has experience in a tactical setting working as a strength and conditioning coach for the U.S. Army, assisting soldiers with improving their ACFT scores and overall physical readiness.
A self-proclaimed underdog, she truly believes if she can tackle wild fitness challenges-- like a 50k trail run, a 12-hour assault bike relay, Hyrox, powerlifting, or more CrossFit-- anyone can. She's a firm believer in the process, seeing the outcome as just the cherry on top, and she's always ready to meet people where they're at. She works with people from all walks of life with an open heart and zero judgment.
When she's not coaching or dreaming up her next crazy fitness feat, Raquel's a devoted dog lover, doting on her three pups-- Penny, Bodhi, and Atlas. She's also on a perpetual hunt for a Diet Peach Snapple (RIP glass bottles) and thrives on the support of friends who join her in her wild endeavors. For Raquel, strength isn't about lifting heavy-- it's about trusting the process, having mental and emotional support, and lifting others up along the way.
