Chris Soto

A native of El Paso, Texas, Chris Soto has been a lifelong athlete, including martial arts from 7 to 14 years old, and competitive cross country and track (middle distances) from middle school to college at the D3 level. His interest in hybrid training began after attempting to add swimming and strength into the mix post-collegiately and improving with little success. This started a years-long journey in learning exercise physiology, nutrition, and proper programming to create intelligent and sustainable training for athletes interested in hybrid fitness.

Chris focuses his coaching efforts on hybrid athletes, distance runners (from the mile to the half-marathon), general population athletes, and local aspiring firefighters in the Albuquerque area. He believes in delivering an empathetic and highly collaborative coaching experience that focuses on the individual's needs, considering that the athlete is an ecosystem where all aspects of life should coexist harmoniously.

He also has a particular passion for educating beginners on strength, conditioning, and nutrition, while also helping assuage fears of the weight room and general physical activity.

Chris has learned about all aspects of strength and conditioning through numerous reputable professionals, including the Complete Human Performance, the Compound Performance team, Pat Davidson, Layne Norton, and Angus Bradley. Chris lives and trains out of Lux Fitness Gym in Albuquerque, New Mexico, holding CSCS and TSAC-F certifications through the NSCA.
